Full Day wine tour considerations

So you think the full day wine tour is the correct wine tour for you based on the fact you are in the Marlborough wine region and are looking to spend one day tasting wine. So what does our full day wine tour involve?

  • We will collect you from your accommodation around 10am if you are in the Blenheim area or around 9.30 if you are in Picton or Havelock.
  • We will visit 2 or 3 wineries before our lunch stop. Most of the wineries will offer tastings of 4 or 5 wines.
  • We stop for lunch at a top Marlborough winery for about 1.5 hours to allow for a leisurely lunch and another set of tastings. Lunch is chosen from their a la carte menu and the cost of lunch is additional to the tour. If the weather is nice we will reserve a table outside and that is usually be the vines. There is the option to purchase a glass of wine with lunch
  • After our lunch stop we generally visit another 3 wineries for tastings.
  • During the tour we stop in a vineyard and your guide will talk you through the pruning of the vines and during travel between wineries will give a history of the region and introduce each winery we are going to visit.
  • It is possible for guest to request wineries to visit when booking or on the day.
  • Wine can be purchased at the wineries, however, there is no hard sell and it is up to you.
  • At the end of the tour we drop you off at you accommodation.

In summary this tour lasts about 7 hours and you will get the opportunity to taste in excess of 25 different wines.

Half Day wine tour considerations

This may be due to the fact you do not arrive in Marlborough until mid morning or you think tasting over 25 wines will be too much. So what does our half day wine tour involve? Here we have 2 options, One including a lunch stop and the other just tasting wine.

Half Day wine tour including a stop for lunch at a winery

  • We will collect you from your accommodation around 12 noon if you are in the Blenheim area or around 11.30 if you are in Picton or Havelock.
  • The first stop is for lunch at a top Marlborough winery for about 1.5 hours to allow for a leisurely lunch and a set of tastings (usually 4 or 5 wines). Lunch is chosen from their a la carte menu and the cost of lunch is additional to the tour. If the weather is nice we will reserve a table outside and that is usually be the vines. There is the option to purchase a glass of wine with lunch.

Half day wine tour excluding lunch

  • We will collect you from your accommodation around 1pm if you are in the Blenheim area or around 12.30 if you are in Picton or Havelock.
  • The first stop takes us to the winery where the rest of the group are having lunch for a tasting of 4 or 5 wines.
  • After this stop we join the groups together and we generally visit another 3 wineries for tastings or 4 or 5 wines per visit.
  • During the tour we stop in a vineyard and your guide will talk you through the pruning of the vines and during travel between wineries will give a history of the region and introduce each winery we are going to visit.
  • It is possible for guests to request wineries to visit when booking or on the day.
  • Wine can be purchased at the wineries, however, there is no hard sell and it is up to you.
  • At the end of the tour we drop you off at you accommodation.

In summary this half day wine tour lasts about 4-5 hours (depending on lunch or no lunch) and you will get the opportunity to taste in excess of 16 different wines.
